RichClient / ThinClientRichClient is an application which is installed on the computer of the user. A RichClient can be made up of different modules (plug-ins). These plug-ins can be created by different sites and integrated into the application. In addition, a RichClient has a local component to it. Many tasks can be processed 'locally', directly on the computer of the user. This guarantees work processes with short waiting periods and moreover, minimized backend load. ThinClient is an application which runs in a browser. No further applications need to be installed. ThinClient can therefore be used everywhere where there is a browser available. Different to a RichClient, a ThinClient calculates the page view on a central server (application server). The browser only displays the page.
